SPS Security Statement

SPS utilizes the most advanced mechanisms available today for Internet technology.  Security matters are a primary concern for the design and implementation of our SPS hosted services.  The security scheme flows through the application framework on a couple of levels, including (but not limited to):
  • Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology protects your data using data encryption while it travels across the Internet from your Internet Explorer browser version 6.0 or higher to our web servers.

  • Application access is limited to user names and passwords.  ALL passwords are encrypted in the database using 3DES encryption so no one (not even our employees) can ever see your password without knowing how to decode the encryption.

  • All web content is delivered via compiled C programs -- there are very few static html pages utilized by SPS.  All content runs through a single CGI interface (also compiled C application) which mandates that the security routines be negotiated for every transaction.  This means that user authentication would be necessary to access anything because the applications that send and receive data must be accessed before web content is delivered.

  • No web content containing your data is stored on the web server (in html or other files).  Our CGI interface deletes all page data as soon as it is written back through the secure web port.  This means that a hacker would not be able to find a data "file" on the file system.

  • For extra security, we also offer the ability to limit access to your entire server space to specified IP addresses or domain names at no extra charge.
